- Coordinates all aspects of a product or service offering project for a client, from inception to installation. Installations may involve acceptance of capitalized equipment or enterprise software systems, or system integration or consulting projects/engagements.
- May work at client site from time to time.
- Extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development, pre sales, operations, field services and other members of cross-functional teams.
- Responsible to delivery end-to-end customer satisfaction through the use of Viasat services.
- Responsible for schedules and budgets to ensure goal attainment.
- This role will have overall end-to-end project management responsibility.
- Job Complexity: Works on and may lead projects of diverse scope with little instruction.
- Demonstrates judgment in providing / suggesting methods.
- Required Supervision: Works autonomously with little instruction to solve well-defined problems. Presents results according to predefined metrics and makes suggestions to determine appropriate methods.
- Skill / Knowledge: A professional with a core understanding of telecommunications network deployment.
- Resolves larger, sophisticated issues in creative ways.
- Leadership / Influence: May provide guidance and/or mentor junior level staff.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 7+ years' proven experience in a relevant role such as Project / Program Manager.
- Telecom domain experience - working on large IT and Telecom network / projects deployment.
- A proven track record in working effectively in a cross-functional, collaborative team environment, bridging the gap between cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing external 3rd parties
- Languages: English fluency is required.
- Up to 40% of the time will be needed for travel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain sophisticated technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for the network's end-to-end performance and reliability.
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with a passion for "peeling the onion" to find the root cause of a problem, not just its symptoms.
