Accounting Analyst

• This position is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual looking to grow their career in finance.
• The analyst will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end closing processes.
• This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and develop a strong foundation in accounting principles.
• The Junior Accounting Analyst will report to the Accounting Manager.
• Key Job Responsibilities: 1.
• Journal Entries: Assist in making journal entries in financial and accounting systems, ensuring transactions are correctly classified and recorded.
• Record routine operations such as payments, receipts, billing, and payroll, among others.
• 2.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations, and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Identify and investigate potential discrepancies, and accurately and timely reconcile balances.
• 3.
• Account Analysis and Variance Analysis: Analyze accounting accounts, identifying variations, trends, and anomalies in balances.
• Prepare account analysis reports and explain variances to the accounting team.
• 4.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing periodic financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Collect and organize financial data to support management's decision-making.
• 5.
• Compliance with Tax and Regulatory Requirements: Assist in preparing the necessary documentation and information to meet tax obligations, including tax returns and ancillary obligations.
• Stay up-to-date with accounting and tax regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and laws.
• 6.
• Support for Audits and Closing Processes: Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing requested documentation and information accurately and on time.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting records.
• Qualifications: Technical or bachelors degree in accounting.
• Basic knowledge of financial accounting and accounting principles.
• Familiarity with accounting systems and the Office suite, especially Excel.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
