- The analyst will be responsible for supporting various accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end closing processes.
- This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and develop a strong foundation in accounting principles.
- The Junior Accounting Analyst will report to the Accounting Manager.
- Key Job Responsibilities: 1.
- Journal Entries: Assist in making journal entries in financial and accounting systems, ensuring transactions are correctly classified and recorded.
- Record routine operations such as payments, receipts, billing, and payroll, among others.
- 2.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations, and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Identify and investigate potential discrepancies, and accurately and timely reconcile balances.
- 3.
- Account Analysis and Variance Analysis: Analyze accounting accounts, identifying variations, trends, and anomalies in balances.
- Prepare account analysis reports and explain variances to the accounting team.
- 4.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing periodic financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Collect and organize financial data to support management's decision-making.
- 5.
- Compliance with Tax and Regulatory Requirements: Assist in preparing the necessary documentation and information to meet tax obligations, including tax returns and ancillary obligations.
- Stay up-to-date with accounting and tax regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and laws.
- 6.
- Support for Audits and Closing Processes: Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing requested documentation and information accurately and on time.
- Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of accounting records.
- Qualifications: Technical or bachelors degree in accounting.
- Basic knowledge of financial accounting and accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and the Office suite, especially Excel.
- Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
