  • **Primary Purpose of the Position:**The Recess Leader will play a crucial role in enhancing the recess experience for our students, fostering a culture of positive play that supports their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • This position is designed to create a structured, engaging, and safe environment that allows students to practice essential social skills and enjoy their time outdoors.
  • **Principle Duties and Responsibilities:**Supervision and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during recess, monitoring play activities and promoting a secure environment.
  • Activity Planning: Collaborate with teachers to develop and organize games and activities that are structured yet flexible, providing opportunities for both guided and free play.
  • Game Management: Set up and manage games with clear rules and designated spaces to facilitate organized play, ensuring all students can participate.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the use and care of playground equipment, ensuring it is consistently available and well-maintained for student use.
  • Inclusive Play: Promote games and activities that foster inclusivity and belonging among students, encouraging cooperation and positive social interactions.
  • Support and Guidance: Provide adult support to students during playtime, assisting with conflict resolution and encouraging positive interactions among peers.
  • Creative Play Spaces: Designate areas for imaginative play and free choice, allowing students to express creativity and agency in their outdoor activities.
  • **Certifications and Education:**Graduated in Pedagogy or Physical Education.
  • **Experience:**Experience in a school or child care setting.
  • **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**Passion for working with children and fostering positive social interactions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in supervising or working with children, preferably in a school or recreational setting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and staff.
  • Knowledge of games and activities that promote physical and social development.
