- Manage and maintain Panvalet libraries for source code, JCL, macros, and copybooks.
- Administer ChangeMan ZMF packages across environments (DEV → TEST → QA → PROD).
- Perform impact analysis, troubleshoot promotion failures, and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Automate SCM tasks using REXX, CLIST, and JCL scripting.
- Collaborate with developers, operations, and governance teams to ensure smooth software delivery.
- Document SCM processes and provide training to ensure consistent practices.
- Strong knowledge of z/OS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, datasets (PS, PDS, VSAM).
- Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) for batch jobs and utilities.
- Familiarity with COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, Easytrieve (to support and migrate source code).
- Experience with mainframe scheduling tools (Control-M, CA-7, etc.).
- Expertise in managing Panvalet libraries for source code, macros, copybooks, JCL.
- Version control, check-in/check-out, and member management.
- Using Panvalet utilities (PAN# utilities) for maintenance and automation.
- Integration of Panvalet with compilers and batch streams.
- Hands-on experience with software change and configuration management lifecycle.
- Creating, promoting, installing, and backing out packages across environments (DEV → TEST → QA → PROD).
- Performing impact analysis of code changes before promotion.
- Managing approvals, audits, and compliance processes.
- Troubleshooting package promotion and installation failures.
- REXX and CLIST scripting for automating SCM and operational tasks.
- JCL automation for migrations, versioning, and builds.
- Use of SORT, IDCAMS, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY and other utilities for dataset handling.
- Analytical skills: quickly resolving code promotion and migration issues.
- Communication skills: bridging developers, operations, and management.
- Documentation & training: creating guidelines for consistent SCM practices.
- High attention to detail to prevent production issues.
