POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Accountant performs a variety of complicated general accounting, financial analysis and reporting activities, and other accounting duties to ensure the integrity of the financial results (income statement and balance sheet) of the company. Responsible for a broad range of general ledger accounts, systems, processes, and are subject matter experts on key functions performed in the role.FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES30%Support efforts to bring analysis, account balance documentation, and systems up to date to remediate lapses in processes performed in the finance organization in Brazil. Perform adhoc analysis and lead special accounting and analytical projects at the request of the CAO.20%Performs calculations, prepares journal entries and completes related financial analysis for the month end financial close for Brazil to ensure conformance with US GAAP. Record stat Trial Balance into SIRVA consolidated financial system.25%Document key processes and controls in the finance organization and recommend changes to improve efficiency and ensure compliance. Analyze systems used in Brazil and recommend improvements in systems usage and identify areas for automation.20%Is responsible for internal and external reporting of key metrics for the Americas business units. Provides key data to finance to be used in the overall analyses of business unit performance, as well as reporting to external regulatory agencies.5%Create KPI’s, prepare month end financial package, and other financial reporting to be used by management in understanding trends, and driving growth in the businessQUALIFICATIONS AND PREFERRED SKILLS

4-5 years of professional accounting experience
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Experience working with accounting software and operating systems
Have advanced excel skills, and experience extracting data from databases through queries
Detail oriented and able to work independently
Experience in process improvement initiatives
Bachelor's degree in accounting
