This is a 100% on-site position.Work authorization for Brazil is required. This position will focus on optimization / commissioning.Job Summary:A Network Engineer is a professional responsible for ensuring that the telecommunications network operates as efficiently as possible, providing better service quality. They work to improve network performance, reduce operational costs, and ensure that end users have consistent and high-quality experience.Key Responsibilities:
  • Traffic Simulation and Network Modeling: Use modeling and simulation tools to predict how the network will behave under different traffic conditions and to test proposed improvements before implementation (using predictive software).
  • Evaluate and ensure that the network has sufficient capacity and coverage to support increased traffic without compromising service quality.
  • In Wireless Networks, conduct detailed coverage and signal strength measurements to identify areas with coverage issues or inadequate signal levels, suggesting solutions such as installing repeaters or adjusting antenna positioning.
  • Growth Forecasting and Scalability: Analyze traffic trends and forecast future network capacity needs to proactively plan upgrades and infrastructure adjustments.
  • Plan network growth efficiently, identifying where new resources are needed, whether through coverage expansion or equipment upgrades.
  • System Integration: Integrate new devices and technologies into the existing network, ensuring that connectivity between different parts of the infrastructure is maintained.
  • Link and Connection Configuration: Configure and optimize communication links (Control Plane, User Plane, Termpoint…) to ensure service availability and quality.
  • Software Updates and Patches: Apply software updates and security patches to network devices to protect the infrastructure.
  • KPI Monitoring: Track key network KPIs such as throughput, latency, packet loss, bandwidth usage, and error rates.
  • Analyze these metrics to identify weak points or overloads in the infrastructure and provide improvements through parameters, features, or even suggesting software upgrades.
  • Capacity and Network Traffic Analysis: Evaluate whether the network is properly sized for the traffic volume, adjusting capacity or redistributing traffic where necessary.
  • Identify areas of the network or specific links that are overloaded and impacting overall network performance.
  • Signal Quality Monitoring: For Wireless Networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G), monitor signal strength and quality in different geographic areas to identify coverage problems or interference.
  • Interference Detection: Identify sources of interference in wireless networks (such as radio interference or interference from other devices) and suggest improvements to minimize these impacts.
  • Network Resource Optimization: Conduct continuous tests to ensure that the network meets expected quality levels, according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Adjust and optimize the use of resources, such as spectrum allocation, bandwidth, and frequency channels, to ensure the best possible performance.
  • For Wireless Networks, adjust radio cell parameters such as transmission power, antenna tilting, and cell alignment to optimize coverage and reduce interference.
  • Create detailed reports on network performance, optimizations implemented, and performance gains to share with management and other teams.
  • Effectively manage traffic between different cells or sectors of a mobile network to avoid certain cells from becoming overloaded while others remain underutilized.
  • After implementing changes or optimizations, evaluate the impact of the actions and ensure that performance improvement objectives have been met.
  • Test and implement new network optimization tools, such as AI-based or automation solutions, to improve performance more efficiently.
  • Conduct periodic performance tests to evaluate the network under various conditions and validate that optimizations are working as expected.
  • Network Parameter Reconfiguration: Alter network device configurations, such as routers, switches, and access points, to improve performance, reduce latency, or increase coverage.
  • Routing Algorithm Adjustment: Modify or optimize routing algorithms to improve network efficiency, avoiding suboptimal routing and reducing response times.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, computer or network
  • Advanced English - writing and speaking
  • 3 years of experience
  • Able to work on site
