Learn more about itTHE OPPORTUNITYWe are hiring a Staff Backend Software Engineer to our General Platform Services team in Brazil!We are looking for a Staff Engineer to take over for some of the most complex projects related to key teams of the General Platform Services (GPS) focus area. Most of these projects will be related to Identity, Account and Privacy services like adapting services related to login to be multi-region, help create and evolve an architecture for audit logs, help measuring and adapting services resources according to usage and costs.YOUR IMPACT
  • Design and develop APIs and workers to interface with various other services in the Wellhub ecosystem, ensuring APIs are secure, scalable, and performant;
  • Consistently follow best practices and they can stand up for technical decisions in code review and design feedback;
  • Helping design and implement testing standards grounded in best practices;
  • Helping to configure and fine-tune infrastructure components to meet the specific needs of each application, working closely with SREs;
  • Create load test plans and execute them to understand and improve services' performance, resources usage and costs according to each use case;
  • Help solve incidents by joining war rooms, troubleshooting, measuring impact, implementing hotfixes, writing post-mortems, planning and helping executing actions derived from post-mortems;
  • Help analyze service alerts and monitor engineering metrics on daily-basis;
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers;
  • Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to non-technical stakeholders;
  • Help mentor less senior engineers and guide them when necessary;

WHO YOU ARE
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
  • Focus on making things right and better at every opportunity;
  • Solid experience with RESTful APIs written in Java/ Kotlin + Spring or Golang;
  • Solid Software Architecture knowledge (Event driven architectures, serverless);
  • Solid Software quality and test automation mindset;
  • Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s) experience;
  • Experience with SQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL;
  • Experience with microservices and high volume distributed systems;
  • You have exceptional communication skills that enable you to work effectively with diverse teams located across different countries;
  • Advanced English skills and can clearly articulate ideas when speaking to groups in English.
