- Develop a strong understanding of Illumina's technology and products and continue to learn as the Illumina product portfolio evolves.
- Establish and execute strategies to acquire new customers and retain/grow existing customer accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Support the field sales team to ensure customer demands are met in a timely manner.
- Respond to incoming calls to address customer requests, such as quotes, product information, and product pricing and availability.
- Network with existing and potential customers to identify sales opportunities.
- Partner with internal and field teams to generate quotes, process orders, update systems, and generate reports.
- Demonstrate the ability to present versatile and unique solutions during customer negotiations to establish mutually beneficial circumstances for both the customer and Illumina.
- Have the ability to learn, adapt, and gain from each experience to become more effective in subsequent sales scenarios. • Work effectively in a team environment to drive and create revenue opportunities.
- Manage post-sale customer relationships, including a strategy for developing repeat and long-term business relationships.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English
- Solid foundation in Genetics and Molecular Biology to enable a better understanding of the wide range of customer applications in order to uncover sales potential.
- 2+ years of experience in a life sciences laboratory, sales role, or related field with customer-facing experience is preferred.
- Experience with strategic sales skills with a proven ability to develop and grow key accounts is preferred.
- Effective, professional, and comfortable presentations to clients, colleagues, and management are preferred.
- Knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing and Genotyping methods is preferred.
- Self-motivated to continue learning beyond initial onboarding within the role.
- A demonstrated desire to be an effective collaborator within a team-based sales environment and a willingness to provide and seek feedback from teammates.
- Strong desire to "win" and build relationships with clients.
- Approach tasks with urgency. Willingness to plan, prioritize and manage time efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field; a postgraduate degree is a plus.
