DESCRIPTIONAmazon is a fast paced, dynamic, high-tech company. The LATAM Accounting organization supports our financial reporting, controllership, internal controls, and also supports new business launches for Amazon in the region.We are currently looking for a manager level candidate to support the business growth in Amazon's Sao Paulo, Brazil office. Successful candidates may have held manager accounting, controllership or finance positions in public or private companies and demonstrated experience in leading teams to accomplish complex challenges.Key job responsibilities
- Manage the period-end close process by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all revenue and AR accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Manage key projects timeline and provide requirements for launches
- Perform analytical review of related balances and provide balance sheet account movements to support cash flow reporting
- Drive projects, provide accounting guidance and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to resolve issues.
- Ensure effective collaboration and influence across multiple organizations with partner teams and stakeholders, such as Legal, Tax and Business.
- Drive controllership initiaves and solutionsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable resultsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
- Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
