- Mechanical Generator inspection maintenance and repair in line with OEM standards and processes.
- Strip down and rebuild large generators and related equipment; fault find and rectify as necessary and overhaul and clean.
- Installation and commissioning of large turbo driven generators, sync condensers, and Motors.
- Carrying out mechanical alignment checks, basic Electrical tests and adjustments to machines and complex shaft systems using mechanical, optical and laser-based systems including Electrical test equipment.
- Interpret specifications and technical requirements; prepare method statements and prepare detailed and concise reports for submission to customers. Attend technical meetings on site and at customers’ premises.
- Undergo training if necessary to ensure that assistance to winding specialists in carrying out in-situ winding repairs/rewinds is provided.
- The job description is not to be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive and you may be required to undertake various duties as may reasonably be required of you by the Company to provide solutions for customers.
- Have an accredited Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or relevant experience at minimum, qualified through a recognized Craft apprenticeship in fitting and assembly operations on large high voltage rotating electrical machines.
- Have Mechanical experience working on Motors and/or Generators.
- Be self-sufficient, resourceful and a problem solver.
- Have strength of character and high levels of energy.
- Be an effective communicator, fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Be able to undertake overseas and offshore assignments, in addition to attending trainings in Italy, UK and Czech Republic.
- Have experience in dealing with external stakeholders on-site and operating remotely on own initiative.
- Have knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and be willing to be a leader in HSE.
- Be a good team player with the ability to work independently.
