- Identify opportunities to leverage technology to build and improve upon a best-in-class systems for Dangerous Goods transportation
- Identify regulatory risks in new products, services and provide guidance for risk mitigation
- Interpret new or changing regulations related to Dangerous Goods transportation in the different shipping modes: ground, air and sea; to determine how they apply to our business operations
- Provide end-to-end Dangerous Goods compliance project management support and guidance for complex business and operations projects/initiatives.A day in the life
This individual will work closely with numerous internal partner teams, including: Amazon Fulfillment Technology, Transportation, Catalog, Classification, Legal, Retail, FBA (Fullfilled by Amazon), and our operations teams.The Risk Specialist will demonstrate excellent judgment and instincts in decision-making, and proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge of Amazon's businesses, fulfillment models, and relevant technologies.A successful candidate will work across senior levels of leadership in multiple organizations to align on processes and proposed controls on a local/regional and global scale while delivering high-quality work on time.About the team

- Experience in a highly regulated industry such as petrochemical, automotive, pharmaceutical etc
- Verbal and written communication skills; at ease in dealing with ambiguity and communicating with senior management, demonstrates flexibility to adapt scope and projects, ability to present complex issues in a concise way, ability to write documents
- English and Portuguese proficiency language, both oral and verbal
- Certification and/or experience in Dangerous Goods or regulated hazardous materials compliance
- Experience managing regulations and standards from National Ground Transportation Agency (ANTT), National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), as well other global regulations and standards like DOT, ADR, IATAPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge and practical skills in applying Lean Six Sigma philosophy and methodology
- Experience in a regulatory compliance environment
- Knowledge of data warehouse and SQL
- Previous experience in an e-commerce environment or other fast-paced, technology driven businesses
