DESCRIPTIONAs a Retail Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving financial strategy, analysis, and reporting for a category retail business unit. Reporting to the Senior Retail Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end financial management of several retail locations, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, performance tracking, and business partnering with store operations.The ideal candidate will have experience in retail or consumer finance, with a strong background in financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required, along with an advanced degree or CPA/CMA certification preferred. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.Key job responsibilitiesDeveloping and maintaining detailed financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making for the retail businessAnalyzing sales, expenses, inventory, and other key performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvementCollaborating closely with category leaders and vendor managers to understand business drivers and provide financial guidancePreparing comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate insights to cross-functional stakeholdersOwning the retail financial planning and budgeting process, ensuring alignment with overall corporate goalsIdentifying and implementing process improvements to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilitiesProviding subject matter expertise and thought leadership on retail finance best practicesBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles
- Experience in accounts receivable or account payable
- Experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation planPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
