- Own the design and development of engineering solutions for complex material handling challenges considering human/equipment interactions for the North America and ECCF fulfillment network
- Lead and coordinate concept and design development efforts for optimal solutions for the North America and ECCF fulfillment network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, ergonomics, associate experience, operational considerations and site layout
- Work closely with vendors, suppliers and other teams to create innovative solutions
- Simultaneously manage multiple high-visibility projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors - Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects
- Conduct post mortem on designs after implementation in partnering with Safety and
- Build strong relationships with partner organizations within the company such as Start-up, Launch team, Worldwide Design team, Construction, Procurement, Information Technology, Loss Prevention, Facilities, Safety, Change Management, PMO and Operations
- Ability to travel up to 50% to interact with internal and external business and technical leadersA day in the life
A Day in the Life of a Solutions Engineer involves working with both internal and external teams. Internally, the Solutions Engineer will work with operations & Network Planning Teams to understand initiatives and then present solutions to them. Along the way, working with other teams to understand and validate the design for safety, maintainability, and functionally. In the background, the engineer will be working directly with the MHE integrator and storage vendor to manage the project during the design.About the team
The Solution Engineering Team, within International Ops Eng Team, develops innovative Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and storage solutions across Europe and Emerging Countries Customer Fulfillment (ECCF) network. We partner with industry vendors to create comprehensive proposals addressing unique fulfillment challenges. Our success stems from close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including Operations, Design & Construction, Finance, Safety, ACES, Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME), and Operations Engineering. These partnerships ensure our solutions meet operational requirements, safety standards, and financial objectives while advancing material handling innovation.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Experience in industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree
- Fluent EnglishPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
