- Direct the EHS strategy through the implementation and deployment of the Ball Operational Excellence program.
- Lead the development and deployment for EHS KPIs and lead department efficiency through streamlining processes, automating data collection and applying LEAN principals.
- Direct continuous improvement efforts aimed at reducing safety and environmental risks for our employees and our communities in which we operate.
- Facilitate the development of plant and functional safety rules, processes and tools.
- Deploy Ball global EHS requirements and standards and drive compliance with governmental regulations and laws in occupational health, safety and environment in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay
- Direct industrial hygiene and occupational health initiatives, assessments and surveillance monitoring across SA manufacturing footprint.
- Direct and assist in the development of EHS related responses/corrective actions affecting Ball SA operations.
- Partner with Manufacturing Operations, Human Resources, Risk Management and Global Fire Safety Protection on workers' compensation and property protection to maintain or achieve highly protected risk (HPR) status.
- Communicate concisely; efforts, progress, achievements, problems and failures related to environmental, health and safety compliance.
- Assist Ball Global and Regional participation in enforcement proceedings in cooperation with the Ball Law Department. Lead EHS support and consulting to plants, suppliers, commercial team(s) and functional leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science/Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience providing EHS services and support to large, multi-site manufacturing operations, demonstrating leadership in ensuring compliance with regulations and laws.
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety, environmental leadership / governance in a large manufacturing environment - proven experience of working in a health and safety role at a similar level and bringing about culture change within an organization.
- Solid experience leading and managing a team of Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) professionals, guiding them through large health and safety improvement projects and change management initiatives.
- Advanced or Fluent English is mandatory.
- Advanced Spanish skill is highly desirable.
